What You Will Do
This is a hands-on job for someone who already works in a medicine-testing lab and is ready to lead a team. You will run the daily testing work in the QC lab and make sure every material and product is tested properly before it is released. Your main tasks will be:
- Plan and watch over daily testing of raw materials, packing materials, samples made during production, and finished medicines
- Check test data, worksheets, and lab records to make sure they are correct, complete, and honest before approving them
- Make sure analysts follow approved methods, rules, and good documentation practice
- Look after the lab’s machines, such as HPLC, dissolution, and UV equipment, including their calibration and maintenance, as well as reference standards, chemicals, and stored samples
- Investigate unusual test results (called OOS and OOT results) together with the QC Manager and the Quality Assurance team, and follow up on fixes
- Support stability studies, method verification and validation, and sample handling
- Get the lab ready for audits and inspections by the company, its customers, and regulators, and answer any observations
- Train and guide QC analysts, and plan the lab’s workload and shifts
- Keep QC procedures (SOPs), specifications, and test records up to date
- Report lab performance, problems, and pending work to the QC Manager
Who Can Apply
- A degree in Pharmacy (Pharm-D), Chemistry, or a related science. A Master’s degree is an advantage
- 4 to 6 years of QC experience in a regulated medicine-making factory, including at least 1 to 2 years supervising analysts or reviewing test data
- Hands-on experience with HPLC (including reviewing its data), dissolution testing, and UV spectrophotometry
- Working knowledge of cGMP, good documentation practice, data integrity, OOS/OOT handling, and stability testing
- Skills to review data carefully, write clear investigation reports, and lead and train analysts
- A steady work history and a wish to stay with the role
- Willing to work on-site in Islamabad. People who already live in Islamabad or Rawalpindi are preferred
The job poster has also listed three must-have requirements: a Bachelor’s degree, at least 3 years of experience with HPLC, and at least 4 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
