There is no single website where you can check every Punjab government subsidy. Each scheme has its own process. This guide covers the main ones Punjab residents ask about: the electricity subsidy, the Green Tractor subsidy, the Kissan Card and the CM Solar scheme. Where I could not confirm a way to check status, the article says so. Rules, dates and websites can change, so use only official channels.
Quick Guide
| Scheme | How to check | Confirmed? |
|---|---|---|
| Electricity subsidy (up to 200 units) | Scan the QR code on your bill and check the portal | Reported by Aaj News, May 2026 |
| Green Tractor subsidy | Apply on the scheme portal or at the Agriculture Extension office | Status check not found |
| Kissan Card | Register by SMS to 8070 | Status check not found |
| CM Solar scheme | Log in to the scheme portal, “Application Status” | Older report, check current rules |
1. Electricity Subsidy (Up to 200 Units)
Aaj News reported on 20 May 2026 that Punjab consumers using up to 200 units a month had to verify themselves to keep the subsidised residential tariff. Without verification, per-unit rates could rise from about Rs17 to 20 to Rs38 to 40, according to that report. The subsidised tariff was to be restored from 1 June only for consumers who completed the process.
How to verify and check
- Find the square QR code on the front of your latest electricity bill.
- Scan it with your phone camera or a QR scanner app and open the link.
- Enter your 14-digit bill reference number (it may fill in by itself) and your CNIC number.
- Enter the mobile number registered against your CNIC. The SIM must be PTA-verified in your name.
- Enter the one-time password sent by SMS and confirm.
- Check the portal to see whether the subsidy is applied to your bill.
If the QR code does not scan, the report says to use the Cross Subsidy Programme registration portal directly, but it gives no web address or phone number. Ask your electricity company (such as LESCO) for the official link.
Who is eligible
- The meter is on a residential tariff.
- Your record matches BISP or NSER welfare data.
- Only one meter per CNIC gets the subsidy.
- Monthly use stays consistently below 200 units. Temporary spikes, such as from air conditioners, can disqualify you.
- The name on the bill matches your CNIC exactly.
The 1 June deadline has passed. I could not find a newer notice, so ask your electricity company whether you can still verify.
2. Chief Minister Punjab Green Tractor Programme
ProPakistani reported on 19 August 2026 that the latest phase offers Rs750,000 off each of 10,000 tractors with 50 to 65 horsepower engines. Farmers needed at least five acres of land. Applications were to close on 31 August 2026.
- Online: The scheme portal is gts.punjab.gov.pk, according to ProPakistani.
- Offline: Get the form from the Agriculture Extension office, fill it in and submit it to the Deputy Director Agriculture Extension office.
The report does not explain how to check application status and gives no helpline. Related posts on the same page are dated after the deadline, so confirm with the portal or your Agriculture Extension office whether applications or results are still open.
3. CM Kissan Card
The Punjab government page describes the Kissan Card as an interest-free loan for farm inputs, not a cash subsidy. Farmers can get up to Rs150,000 per season, with a limit of Rs30,000 per acre. The card is valid for six months, with a one-month grace period for repayment.
- Register: Send an SMS to 8070 with “pkc”, a space and your CNIC number.
- Eligibility: Up to 12.5 acres of land, land ownership recorded in PLRA and a SIM registered in your own name.
The official page does not explain how to check your application status, and it lists no helpline or website. The page also lists the codes “cmkc” and “faqs kc” without explaining them, so I have not included instructions for them.
4. CM Solar Scheme (Roshan Gharana)
Bol News reported in July 2024 that the scheme covered 90% of the cost of a solar system for households using up to 500 units, with the rest paid in instalments over five years. These details are old and the scheme may have changed.
Aaj News describes this way to check status: open the CM Solar Scheme portal (it names cmsolarscheme.pk), log in with your registered email and password and go to “Application Status.” Those who applied by SMS can expect status updates, and a helpline can check by CNIC or reference number. The Aaj report says registration closed on 5 January 2025, and it gives no helpline number. I could not confirm this domain as official, so check the address on the Punjab government website before entering any details.
What the statuses mean (per Aaj News)
- Under Review: Being processed.
- Approved: Meets all criteria.
- Rejected: Did not meet eligibility rules.
- Pending Verification: More documents are needed.
Stay Safe From Scams
- Only use official government websites and numbers. Type the address yourself.
- Do not share your OTP, CNIC photos or bank details with callers or on social media pages.
- Do not pay anyone to “approve” a subsidy. Official schemes do not need middlemen.
- Be wary of SMS messages asking you to click a link to “claim” money.
What I Could Not Confirm
- A single portal covering all Punjab subsidies.
- A status check method for the Green Tractor scheme and the Kissan Card.
- Whether electricity subsidy verification is still open after 1 June.
- Current rules for the CM Solar scheme.
