Developing Cyclone in The Arabian Sea Has Potential To Hit Karachi:
The weather department has issued a warning for Karachi regarding a potential cyclone that could impact the city within the next 24 hours. A low-pressure area has developed above the Arabian Sea, which has the potential to trigger cyclonic circulations. However, at present, no areas are under immediate threat.
Dr. Sardar Sarfraz, the Chief Meteorological Officer, has reported that the low-pressure area has formed above the Southeast Arabian Sea, specifically at longitude 66.0 E and latitude 11.0 N. The cyclone could potentially originate approximately 1,550 km south or southwest of Karachi.
The meteorological office is closely monitoring the situation, and as of now, no coastal areas are being warn of any imminent danger. It anticipated that favorable meteorological conditions could lead to the formation of a depression that would move in a northwest direction.
In the event that the low-pressure area develops into a cyclonic storm, it would be name Cyclone Biparjoy, a name designated by Bangladesh. The situation continues to be monitored, and updates will be provided as necessary.
