Data of Over 2 Million Pakistanis from Restaurants Database Hacked and Offered for Sale
The personal data of 2.2 million Pakistani individuals has been unlawfully accessed and is currently being traded on the internet by cybercriminals. These hackers assert that they have infiltrated the databases of over 250 restaurants, exposing contact information and credit card particulars of these individuals.
This software, widely employed by numerous restaurants across Pakistan, has become the focal point of this breach. The stolen information encompasses transaction specifics, including the frequency of payments made and the associated monetary sums.
In exchange for this compromised information, the hackers are demanding a ransom of 2 Bitcoins, equivalent to approximately $54,000. Up to this point, Pakistani authorities have not received any official reports regarding this security breach.
