Swiss ambassador visited historical sites of Pakistan like Makli Necropolis and others. Later he wished happy new year with pics of these sites.
Director Archelogy and Museums, Abdul Fateh Shiekh and their teams organized a visit of some historical sites on Sunday. As, this tour was particularly organized for swiss ambassador to Pakistan Benedict de Cerjat from Sindh Antiquities Department.
They visited Thatta- Shah Jahan Mosque, Makli Necropolis and Chaukhandi Tombs in Karachi.
After visiting these beautiful sites, ambassador shared pics from these sites and wish everyone Happy New Year.
He praised these adorable sites in these words “Wishing you all a very Happy New Year 2022, from the historic city of #Thatta, Southern #Sindh #Pakistan and its beautiful Shah Jahan Mosque,”.
Makli Necropolis is the biggest burial location in the world. As it contains about 5 lakhs tombs which remembers back to 14th and 18th centuries- UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981. According to UNESCO surveys, it is distinctive collection of huge structures which represents majestic order of enormous buildings in rare architectural styles.
Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan built Shah Jahan Mosque in 17th century. As it is known for his distinctive tile works now.
Makli Tombs are famous for their elaborated Sand Stone Cravings as Chaukhandi necropolis. Chaukhandi necropolis belongs to early Islamic Cemetery situated in Karachi, Sindh
