Throughout the period from October to December 2023, TikTok’s proactive strategies led to the elimination of 176 million videos worldwide, accounting for approximately 1.0% of all content uploaded on the platform. Among these, 128 million videos swiftly identified and removed using automated detection technologies, while 8 million reinstated upon further scrutiny.
Within Pakistan, the platform took decisive action against 18 million videos found in violation of its Community Guidelines during the fourth quarter, showcasing its commitment to effectively addressing infractions. Additionally, TikTok aggressively tackled spam accounts and associated content, deploying stringent measures to curb the rise of automated spam activity.
Of particular note, approximately 95.3% of guideline-violating videos were removed within 24 hours of posting, with a remarkable global proactive removal rate of 99.5% for the quarter. As part of a concerted global initiative to protect younger users, TikTok also purged 19.84 million accounts suspected of belonging to individuals under the age of 13.
