With consistently increasing street crimes in Karachi, Sindh government has decided to use tracking technology. They will use ankle trackers in individuals who were involve in more than one street crimes in Karachi.
Recently Murad Ali Shah -Chief Minister of Sindh presided over a high level meet in the capital city of province on Wednesday. The purpose of meeting was to over come alarming increase of street crimes.
Ghulam Nabi Memon -Additional Inspector General -AIG and Murtaza Wahab -Advisor to the Chief Minister of Sindh on Law also attend this meeting.
However Murad Ali Shah like this plan to equip recidivist with ankle monitors to track their activities and movements in Karachi effectively. This tracking plan was suggest by Karachi Police.
AIG Karachi presented this plan to Chief Minister Sindh who approved it instantly. And forward it to Sindh Law Ministry for the further approval and procedure.
More than 7,500 recidivists will get with ankle trackers to track their movements. Different categories are define by Karachi police like habitual violators etc.
United States and European countries are also using this tracking process. More than 200,000 criminals in the United States followed by E-tagging, according to AIG Ghulam Nabi.
They also gave remarks that E-tagging system will help to over come street crimes.
