India Becomes World’s Most Populated Country Surpassing China:
According to statistics released by the United Nations’ Population Division, India has now surpassed China to become the world’s most populous nation. While the population growth in India has generally slowed down, it still remains home to over 1.425 billion people. Interestingly, India is almost three times smaller than China in terms of land area. Furthermore, the population growth rate has reached 0.61%, the lowest since 1960.
Although India’s population growth rate is lower than many other countries, including Morocco, Bangladesh, and Colombia, it has become the most populous nation and a significant contributor of young working-age individuals who are globally engaged in education and employment. This specific age group alone is projected to experience a growth rate of nearly 23% from 2020 to 2025.
