AJK Courts Starts Online Case Hearing:
In a significant development, the main seat of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) High Court has established a seamless video link connection with all three circuit benches located in Mirpur, Kotli, and Rawalakot. This innovative setup enables the courts to conduct online hearings, representing a progressive stride towards efficient and accessible justice.
The inauguration of this new system took place during a ceremony held at the high court building, led by Chief Justice Sadaqat Hussain Raja. Alongside the Chief Justice, three other judges were present at the ceremony in Muzaffarabad, while judges from Mirpur and Rawalakot joined via the video link.
The Chief Justice emphasized the significance of this technological advancement, clarifying that the implementation of the video link system does not eliminate the circuit benches. Instead, it aims to enhance their effectiveness and dynamism in addressing the legal needs of the people.
To ensure a smooth transition, comprehensive rules and procedures have been established, providing lawyers with the option to conduct online hearings for their cases through the e-courts platform. This step aims to facilitate legal practitioners and streamline the judicial process, promoting convenience and accessibility in the realm of legal proceedings.
