A B-Form, officially called the Child Registration Certificate (CRC), is NADRA’s identity document for a child under 18. It links your child to both parents in the national database. You can apply through the Pak ID mobile app or at a NADRA Registration Centre. The normal fee is Rs50. Here are the documents, steps, fees and common problems, based on NADRA information reported by ARY News in April, June and October 2026.
What Is a B-Form?
A B-Form is also called a CRC or Bay Form. It is a child’s first official identity document. Parents often need it for school admission, a child’s passport and other records. NADRA advises parents to get it within 30 days of the child’s birth and to renew it before it expires, since delays can cause “administrative difficulties,” according to ARY News (18 June 2026).
Documents You Need
- Birth proof: The child’s birth certificate issued by the Union Council, or the CRMS number.
- Parents’ CNICs: The CNIC numbers of the parents. An Icons.com.pk guide (2026) says at least one parent’s CNIC or NICOP is needed.
- Child’s details: Name, date of birth, gender and address.
The Union Council birth certificate comes first, so register the birth before you apply. The Icons guide says birth registration should happen within 60 days. I could not confirm that time limit from NADRA.
Photo and Fingerprint Rules by Age
| Child’s age | What NADRA needs |
|---|---|
| Under 3 years | No photograph |
| 3 to 10 years | Photograph |
| 10 to 18 years | Photograph and fingerprints |
These age rules are from ARY News (18 June 2026).
How to Apply
Option 1: Pak ID App or Online
- Open the Pak ID app, or NADRA’s Pak Identity portal, and sign in or create an account.
- Choose the new CRC (B-Form) option.
- Enter your child’s details.
- Upload the documents and photo, if one is needed for your child’s age.
- Verify the parents’ identity when asked.
- Pay the fee and save your receipt and tracking ID.
ARY News confirms the Pak ID app can be used. The step list above comes from an Icons.com.pk guide, and the app screens may look different. It is not an official NADRA list, so follow the on-screen instructions.
Option 2: NADRA Registration Centre
- Take your child, the birth certificate and the parents’ CNICs to the nearest centre.
- Tell the staff you want a new B-Form (CRC).
- Complete the photo and biometric steps that apply to your child’s age.
- Pay the fee and keep the receipt.
Fees and Time
| Speed | Fee | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | Rs50 | 7 days |
| Executive | Rs500 | 1 day |
These match NADRA’s fee list reported by ARY News on 7 April 2026, and the June report repeats them. NADRA does not list an urgent rate for the B-Form in that report. The Icons guide gives a looser processing time of “same day to 10 days” and lists Rs500 for correction and duplicate copies. NADRA can change fees, so check before you pay.
If the Mother Has No CNIC Card
NADRA clarified the process on 21 October 2026, according to ARY News:
- CNIC issued but the card is not with her: This may not be a big problem. NADRA can verify her using her CNIC number or fingerprints.
- CNIC never issued: The process is harder. The family records and supporting documents must be complete. The parents’ marriage may not be registered and a family number may not have been issued, which can delay the application. You may need to fix these records first.
The report does not list exact documents for this case. If this is your situation, ask NADRA what to bring. Our guides on the Family Registration Certificate and on applying for a first-time CNIC may help.
How to Replace a Lost B-Form
Apply at the nearest NADRA centre or through the Pak ID app. The fee is Rs50 (normal) or Rs500 (executive), according to ARY News.
Tips to Avoid Delays
- Register the birth with the Union Council first.
- Make sure your name, your spouse’s name and your CNIC numbers match your records.
- Bring the child to the centre if you apply in person, since a photo or fingerprints may be needed.
- Keep your receipt and tracking ID.
- Renew the B-Form before it expires.
Stay Safe From Scams
- Use only the official Pak ID app and NADRA centres.
- Do not pay agents extra to “speed up” the process.
- Do not share your OTP or CNIC photo with anyone.
- NADRA’s helpline is 1777.
What I Could Not Confirm
- The exact steps in the current Pak ID app.
- Whether a child with a CNIC or NICOP still needs a CRC. Reports conflict.
- The exact documents for a child whose mother has no CNIC.
- The Union Council birth registration deadline.
