An assistant director of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) was shot dead near the authority’s office in Hayatabad, Peshawar, on Friday morning. Police have started an investigation, but they have not said who did it or why.
What Happened
The official was named as Fahad Khan, son of Sharoom, from Kafur Dheri. He is also the nephew of MNA Noor Alam Khan. Police spokesperson Alam Khan said Fahad was on his way to duty when he was shot in the parking area behind the NADRA office in Phase 5. The area comes under Hayatabad Police Station.
Police reached the scene soon after they were told. They found eight empty shells from a .30-bore pistol. Fahad’s body was taken to a hospital for a post-mortem examination.
