Pakistan’s Internet Named Worst Performers in All Over The World | Report
A recent report titled ‘Pakistan’s Internet Landscape 2022’ has brought attention to the crucial connection between human rights and information and communication technologies within Pakistan. The report, authored by Jahanzaib Haque, Chief Digital Strategist and Editor at Dawn.com, and published by Bytes For All, a human rights organization, highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing struggle with internet access and digital governance, placing it among the worst-performing countries worldwide. While there have been some advancements in internet accessibility and overall governance, the report indicated that Pakistan still falls behind, especially in comparison to other Asian nations.
Despite an increase in internet penetration, the report revealed that approximately 15 percent of the population in Pakistan continues to lack internet connectivity and access to mobile or telecommunications services.
