The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently honored Shoaib Akhtar, the renowned Pakistani fast bowler, for his historic achievement during the 2003 World Cup. In a match against England, Shoaib Akhtar made cricket history by becoming the first bowler in the Cricket World Cup to deliver a ball at an astonishing speed of over 100 miles per hour, specifically reaching 100.2 mph or 161.3 km/h. This remarkable feat occurred during the last ball of his second over when he bowled a maiden over against the English batsman Nick Knight.
During this extraordinary over, Shoaib Akhtar consistently bowled at remarkable speeds, with deliveries registering at 153.3 km/h, 158.4 km/h, 158.5 km/h, 157.4 km/h, 159.5 km/h, and the record-breaking 161.3 km/h. This incredible performance resulted in an astonishing average speed of 158.06 km/h.
