The PTI long march is now on its way to Kohat. The convoy, led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, spent the night in Karak and will move forward today, Monday, October 5, 2026. Here is the story in simple words.
What Happened So Far?
The march began on Sunday, October 4, from Gandi Chowk in Lakki Marwat. CM Afridi reached Lakki Marwat by helicopter to lead the convoy. Supporters from Tank, Dera Ismail Khan, South Waziristan, North Waziristan, Bannu, and Lakki Marwat joined the march there.
The convoy then travelled to Karak and stayed there overnight. Afridi spoke to workers at Khatam-e-Nabuwwat Chowk on the Bannu-Karak border. He said the struggle was not just for Pashtuns, but for the whole country.
Today’s Plan: Karak to Kohat
On Monday, people from Karak will join the march at noon. The convoy will then leave at 12:30 pm and travel to Kohat. The marchers will stay overnight near Kohat before moving ahead.

Why Is PTI Marching?
The march started after talks between the government and PTI failed to reach an agreement. Two main issues caused the breakdown:
- Disagreement over counterterrorism policy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
- Access for opposition leaders to meet jailed PTI founder Imran Khan
Afridi said that if the government wants the march stopped, it should first allow him and other leaders to meet Imran Khan. He also said PTI would not allow any repeat of the violence seen on May 9, 2023.
What the Government Says
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi blamed CM Afridi for the failed talks. He said Afridi kept changing an already agreed draft, which stopped a deal from being reached before the march began.
