Road Closed in Naran-Kaghan Due to Melting Glacier:
A spokesperson from the National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced the closure of the Kaghan-Naran road for all types of traffic due to the melting of a large glacier. Efforts are currently underway to remove the glaciers and clear the road at Chitta Katha on Naran Road. Another glacier at Guriya Chinch Naran has also blocked the route, and work will begin as soon as it is cleared.
The Tourism Authority’s spokesperson, Muhammad Saad, has advised tourists to exercise caution when visiting Kaghan and Naran valleys and to avoid traveling to Naran. The district administration, NHA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Department, Tourism Authority, and Kaghan Development Authority are collaborating to prioritize clearing the road of the melted glacier to ensure the safety of tourists.
To provide assistance in case of any emergency or for information, tourists can contact the Tourism Helpline 1422. Additionally, the Tourism Authority’s spokesperson regularly updates social media platforms to create awareness among tourists.
