The country may observe a holiday of 4 to 5 days on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. The Cabinet Division has initiated efforts to determine the number of holidays to be observe nationwide.
Although a proposal recommending 4 to 5 holidays for Eid has been prepared for submission to the Prime Minister’s office, a final decision is expected to be made by the Prime Minister next week. If Eid is observe on Friday, holidays may be observed from April 20 to 23, while if it is observed on Saturday, April 22, holidays may be announced from April 20 to 24.
To sight the moon of Shawwal al-Mukarram, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will hold a meeting on Thursday evening, as stated by the Secretary General of the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council, Khalid Ejaz Mufti. The notification will be released by the Cabinet Division after receiving the Prime Minister’s formal approval. Meanwhile, the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council has confirmed the date for sighting the Eid moon in Pakistan.
