China Implementing AI Technology in Classrooms, Revolutionary Headbands Helps to Measure Students Concentration Level:
China Implements AI Technology in Educational Settings, Introduces Innovative Headbands for Assessing Students’ Focus Levels
Chinese educational institutions have been actively exploring the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology within classrooms to enrich the learning experience. A notable case is Jinhua Xiaoshun Primary School, where advanced headbands developed by BrainCo, a US-based company, have been employed to gauge students’ concentration levels. These cutting-edge headbands offer real-time data on student engagement, enabling teachers to customize their instructional approaches according to individual requirements. Nonetheless, the utilization of such technology has encountered criticism, leading to its removal in some schools.
Additionally, certain classrooms employ cameras equipped with facial recognition software to observe students’ conduct. AI-driven systems analyze student behaviors and assign scores based on their levels of attentiveness.
The Chinese government actively supports the implementation of “smart classrooms” to propel educational advancements within the country, driven by intense competition. The gaokao, a critical college entrance examination, holds significant importance for students aspiring to secure placements in prestigious universities. Given the close association between education and success, parents are actively seeking means to gain a competitive advantage, thereby displaying a willingness to embrace emerging technologies.
