A Shining Star: Pakistani Entrepreneur Bilal Bin Saqib Honored with MBE in King Charles Honour List:
Bilal Bin Saqib, a young entrepreneur hailing from Pakistan, awarded the esteemed Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) in recognition of his exceptional humanitarian endeavors throughout the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom. The honor attributed to his notable initiative called One Million Meals.
Saqib, alongside two other individuals from Pakistan, established One Million Meals with the primary objective of providing fresh and hot meals to frontline workers in the UK during the challenging circumstances posed by the pandemic. His unwavering commitment to this cause resulted in the prestigious MBE acknowledgment.
Expressing his gratitude and enthusiasm upon receiving the award, Saqib remarked, “I am deeply honor to be include in the King’s Birthday List and thrilled to receive the MBE for my philanthropic work. This recognition is truly humbling. I will continue striving to create a positive impact in the lives of ordinary people, as that is my life’s mission, and I am grateful to His Majesty for this acknowledgment.”
Throughout the 2020 lockdown, One Million Meals successfully delivered over 100,000 meals to National Health Service (NHS) staff, key workers, homeless individuals, and those in need. The campaign garnered support from prominent sports personalities such as former footballer David Beckham and boxer Amir Khan. It also inspired numerous volunteers to assist with communication and meal deliveries, while local businesses generously contributed food and nutritious beverages.
