The Cambrian Patrol competition, renowned as one of the world’s most challenging military contests, recently concluded in Wales, UK, with Pakistan’s 67 Punjab Regiment earning a remarkable achievement. This prestigious competition, dating back to 1959 and serving as NATO’s most demanding patrolling assessment, witnessed participation from 113 teams worldwide.
Countries like the UK, Pakistan, India, Saudi Arabia, Albania, Germany, Armenia, France, Denmark, and Mexico were among the diverse nations represent in the event. The 67 Punjab Regiment, representing Pakistan, showcased exceptional skills under the leadership of Lieutenant Awais Usman, Team Manager Major Osama, and Observer Major Haseeb.
The Cambrian Patrol is a rigorous 48-hour tactical endurance exercise, covering a vast 60-kilometer area. The competition challenges teams with various battle drills and combat techniques, including casualty evacuation, water gap crossings, section attacks, close target reconnaissance, and counter-explosive ordnance.
