Portuguese Navy and a manager of ship reported that a huge cargo vessel with thousands of luxury cars sank into the mid of Atlantic. The ship was carrying Lamborghinis, Porsches and Bentleys from Germany to United States. The ship sank after burning for 13 days Street Journal reported.
The cargo ship -Felicity Ace was carrying 4000 luxury vehicles including Lamborghinis, Porsches and Bentleys. Volkswagen said that all the damage to vehicles is cover by insurance last week. And they confirmed the news that ship had sunk. On the other side insurance experts claimed that this incident could result into the loss of $155 million, some news agencies reported.
The Felicity Ace sank about 250 miles off Portugal’s Azores Islands as it was being towed, MOL Ship Management in Singapore said in a statement. A salvage team had put out the fire.
The Portuguese navy authenticate about the sinking of ship saying that it incident happened at nearly 30,000 feet depth of water. A helicopter from Portuguese Air Force helped to evacuate 22 crew members when ship got fire.
Authorities said that this incident can pollute water of ocean. As ship was carrying 2000 metric tons of fuel and 2000 tons of oil. However total capacity of ship was 17000 metric tons of cargo.
