Lahore High Court had declared the use of M-tag necessary for all transport vehicles traveling from Islamabad to Lahore M-2 motorway from the end of 2021. Following the orders of Lahore High Court, citizens can visit any near by toll plaza to get M-tag from NHMP to enjoy their journey.
It is pre-paid RFID tag attached on top of front windscreen of vehicles. Thus M-tag provides facility to pay toll tax automatically while passing through tool box. M-tag registration service is available on special booths at tool plazas of M-2.
Anyone one can recharge their M-tag online easily by using different applications and websites without any tax deduction. There are seven easiest ways to recharge M-tag:
- Easy Paisa
- Credit Card
- Jazz Cash
- Debit Card
- Motorway app recharge
- Scratch Card
- Motorway Customer Care Recharge
How to recharge M-tag account:
First of all you need a M-tag ID to recharge your account. To ID send SMS to 9909
The first thing you need to know is the M-Tag ID that you can get by sending an SMS “MTAG<space>CNIC number” to 9909. After getting ID Follow these simple steps:
- Go to Motorway Website
- Click on the Recharge icon
- Enter Your M-Tag ID
- Choose payment method
- Provide information according to payment method.
Note: These steps are helpful only for Easy Paisa, Jazz Cash, Debit Card or Credit Card users.
Scratch Card Method
To recharge your account by using scratch card you can visit Motorway customer care centers available on Motorways. Scratch cards are available from 100Rs to 3000Rs, so follow these steps after getting scratch card to recharge:
- Scratch your card carefully
- Open write Message box.
- Enter Card number <space> M-Tag ID.
- Send it 9909
- Your account will get recharge.
Recharge by using Smart Motorway App
You can also recharge your M-tag by using “Smart Motorway App”. Down load it from play store and recharge your account by using ID number.
How to Check Current Balance
You can also check your M-tag balance by following these steps:
- Tap to open write new message
- Type Balance <space> M-Tag ID
- Send this message to 9909
- Tour current balance will display on screen
