When some one buys an iPhone or any mobile from abroad and come to Pakistan it requires to pay some tax. A lot of users does not know how to register their mobile phones with PTA. Some iPhone lovers who are living in abroad or went for short trip they tend to buy iPhone due to their early availability in global market. However after entering into Pakistan they need to register their devices with Pakistan Telecommunication Authority -PTA first. How To Get Your iPhone Registered with PTA
There three methods to register your iPhone with PTA:
- Dial USSD Code *8484# from your mobile
- Visit the PTA website link https://dirbs.pta.gov.pk/drs
- You can also visit Customer Service Center -CSC or any franchise of mobile operator i.e. Ufone, Jazz, Zong, and Telenor.
Note: You will need to pay all liable duty/tax which will appraise by FBR/Custom officials. Your iPhone will get register within 24 hours after paying these duty taxes to custom officials.
Eligibility Criteria for PTA Registration
Here are some scenario details through which you can register iPhone with Pakistan Telecommunication Authority -PTA.
- You bought this mobile phone or any device from abroad and after coming to Pakistan you need to use this device for more than 60 days.
- You got your device or mobile phone as a gift from from your relatives or friends settled in other countries. And you need to use this device for the first time on Pakistani Network duty.
- Your mobile phone or device must have a valid IMEI but not registered with PTA.
Note: You need to register all IMEI/SIM -based devices e.g. Mobile phone, Dongle, Tablet, Smart Watch, etc.
