Meet 70-Year-Old Saud Bin Muhammad Mohsin Al Ghamdi Awaking For a Staggering 40 Years Without Any Respite:
Sleep is a crucial aspect of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It is not uncommon to encounter individuals who struggle to find peaceful rest for days due to mental stress. However, it may surprise you to discover that there exists a person in the world who claims to have gone without sleep for an astonishing period of 40 years.
Saud Bin Muhammad Mohsin Al Ghamdi, hailing from Saudi Arabia, asserts that he has managed to live a successful life despite not having slept for four decades. Remarkably, he maintains that he is neither mentally unwell nor afflicted by any known medical conditions. At the age of 70, he has endured this unique state of sleeplessness.
According to reports from international media outlets, the Saudi septuagenarian sought the assistance of numerous medical professionals in an attempt to find a remedy. Despite being diagnosed with “clinical depression” by some doctors, no cure or clear cause for his condition could be identified.
Saud bin Muhammad Al-Ghamdi’s journey into this sleepless existence began during his service in the army as a young man. Allegedly, he stayed awake continuously for a period of 20 days during one of his military missions. After the mission concluded, he grew increasingly concerned about his inability to fall asleep and decided to consult medical experts. Regrettably, even the doctors he consulted were unable to provide a definitive explanation or solution for his perplexing condition. Even traditional sleep aids, such as sleeping pills, failed to bring about the desired results.
Expressing his anguish, Saud bin Muhammad Al-Ghamdi simply longs for someone to shed light on his treatment options, enabling him to lead a life that resembles that of a typical human being.
