Islamabad: Bill Gates, fourth richest businessman in the world arrived in Pakistan on Thursday and will stay in the capital city of Pakistan for one day.
Gates -Co-chairman of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and co- founder of Microsoft landed in Pakistan for one day visit. During this visit he met wit Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Dr. Arif Alvi and some other government officials.
It was first ever visit of Bill Gates to Pakistan in which he attended meeting of National Task Force for Polio Eradication -chaired by PM, Imran Khan. In the end PM Khan thanked the foundation -Bill & Melinda Gates for their extreme support to eradicate Polio in Pakistan.
In meeting PM Khan informed that Pakistan has almost eradicated Polio because in last year no Polio case reported. However presence of virus in air is detect in some areas of Baluchistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Bill also visited National Command and Operation Centre -NCOC Headquarters, where Asad Umer -Planning Minister gave him briefings about Pakistan’s fight against pandemic Covid-19 and his variants. Bill Gates and the delegation also appeared in morning session of NCOC.
Dr Sania Nishtar -Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation Senator gave brief introduction of Pakistan’s flagship “Ehsaas Program”. Bill termed this program as ” state of the art program” according to some press released. Dr Sania thanked Bill for his appreciation and support.
After all, co-founder of Microsoft came to Awan-e-Sadar. Where President Arif Alvi conferred Hilal-e-Pakistan on Bill Gates in acknowledgment of his services for people of Pakistan especially in eradication of Polio.
While departing Gates thanked PM Khan for his invitation and warm hospitalities.
