National Gender Policy: Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives introduced a National Gender Policy Framework in Pakistan on the event of International Women’s Day. This policy will guide females to empower in the country.
This policy will help to improve women living and will create equal opportunities to become successful in the workplace. The key objective of the policy is to a provide a organized structure to empower women.
Asad Umar -Federal Minister of Planning and Development addressed that this policy is necessary to ensure all parts of society should have equal rights and opportunities to grow in the society particularly women.
Asad Umar added more that our government is working to remove system’s flaws to improve governance structure. He explained that performance criteria in department was set in a such a way that some fields were ignore where women can perform better.
He explained one more issue that enrollment of boys in schools is very high as compared to girls. Moreover dropout is rising with every passing day.
Dr. Shabnum Sarfraz – member of the Planning Commission claimed that National Gender Policy is the result of nationwide talks and discussions guided by Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives.
