Thursday: The Pakistan military said that an unknown high altitude supersonic missile from India shot down in Pakistan territory near Mian Channu.
Major General Baba Iftekhar -General Inter Services Public Relations -ISPR said in conference that on 9 March a very highly flying object with supersonic speed picked up by Air Defence Operations Centre of the Pakistan air force.
He added that we are not sure about the nature of object which crashed near Mian Channu Punjab province and fly from an Indian city Sirsa -Haryana State. The flying path of this unknown object become a security issue for national and international flights for both Pakistani and Indian airspace. Also endangered human life and ground property also.
The unknown object destroyed a wall of a house but no casualties reported inside Pakistan. He condemned the careless approach that endangered human lives on the both side of the border.
“Whatever caused this to happen, it is for the Indian to explain… it reflects very poorly on their part and could have resulted in a disaster,” he added
Maj Gen said that army will not jump towards final conclusions until they got answers from Indian Airforce. But Pakistan strongly condemned and protests against this airspace violation from India.
Tariq Zia -Air Vice Marshall said unknown object analyzed forensically and initial reports stated that it was surface to surface unarmed supersonic missile.
According to reports object was flying at 40,000 feet altitude with speed of 3 Mach and cross the Pakistan airspace 124 km inside before shot down.
