Pakistan to Start Car Exports to African Nations:
Master Changan Motors Ltd., a Pakistani-Chinese joint venture, has achieved a significant milestone by successfully exporting the first batch of 14 Oshan X7 mid-size crossovers to Kenya and Tanzania. This marks Master Changan Motors as the first company in Pakistan to become a volume exporter of technologically advanced ‘Made in Pakistan’ SUVs. The export ceremony took place in Karachi, where the CEO of Changan Pakistan, Mr. Danial Malik, shared the company’s vision of making Master Changan a part of Changan’s global vehicle supply chain under the ‘Vast Ocean Plan.’
The Oshan X7, a flagship model for Master Changan Motors, set to be the first ‘Made in Pakistan’ SUV launched in an international market. This achievement aligns with the company’s strategy to expand its export volumes and leave a mark in various countries, starting with Kenya and Tanzania. The move comes as part of the 10th-anniversary celebrations of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), showcasing deep economic cooperation between Pakistan and China.
Earlier this year, Changan Automobile, the parent company, announced the ‘Vast Ocean’ plan, a strategy to accelerate international expansion and become a world-class brand. Changan plans to invest $10 billion.
