Pakistani Madrassa Makes World Record by Producing 1 Million Hafiz e Quran:
Wafaq ul Madaris, a Madrassa located in Pakistan, has accomplished an extraordinary milestone by facilitating the production of over 1 million Hafiz e Quran worldwide. Since the inception of an examination in 1982 by Wafaq ul Madaris, one million students have successfully completed the memorization of the Holy Quran.
In the year 2019 alone, more than 78,000 students, including 14,000 female students, became Hafiz e Quran. The Madrassa accepts children as young as four years old, and they complete the memorization of the Holy Quran within a span of two years. In addition to Quranic studies, the students at this Pakistani Madrassa also receive a basic education encompassing subjects like English, Urdu, Mathematics, Pakistan Studies, and Science.
Qari Hafeez Jalandhari, a representative of Wafaq ul Madaris, drew a comparison between the annual production of Hafiz e Quran in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He highlighted the fact that although Arabic is not Pakistan’s national language, a greater number of children in Pakistan are memorizing the Quran as compared to Saudi Arabia. Qari Hafeez Jalandhari emphasized that Saudi Arabia only produces five thousand Hafiz e Quran each year.
Moreover, Qari Hafeez Jalandhari mentioned that the efforts of Wafaq ul Madaris have garnered recognition from the Saudi government, which has praised the Madrassa and bestowed it with an award.
