Malik Amin Aslam -Special Assistant to the Prime Minister -SAPM on Climate Change announced in a ceremony about introducing of the first electric vehicle policy on Friday.
The purpose of ceremony was to distribute electric motorcycles among all the riders and employers of Foodpanda. As Foodpanda is the largest online platform for delivering food in Asia. Foodpanda is aiming to get 50,000 electric bikes to adopt eco-friendly environment and and reduce carbon emissions.
Malik Amin appreciated this act of shifting towards sustainable practices and following government’s agenda. Which aims to counter climate changes and reduction of carbon emissions.
It is step forward towards increasing the culture of environmental protection in the light of Prime Minister’s Clean Green initiative. Although number of delivery boys is increasing day by day. So it is going to be first this kind of inspirational and practical action.
It does not need to say that it is collective action approach and will inspire other players to take steps like this. As it will help to protect our environment, said Malik Amine.
Since COP26 in November at least 26 companies are aiming to achieve the net zero emission targets set by the Pakistan government. The Ministry of Climate Change is hoping to add 70 more companies to the pledge by the end of this 2022.
