Green Line Bus service project took years to complete, now public of Karachi doesn’t need to wait anymore. As Green buses has started official working in the city of Quaid.
From January 10, Green line buses are fully operational for transport service from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm.
The bus service has minimum and maximum fare from 15 to 50 PKR respectively.
Green Line Bus has 25 pick and drop stations along the route. The route of Bus service started from Municipal Park to KESC Powerhouse Chowrangi in Surjani Town. This route is passing through Nazimabad, Nagan Chowrang, North Nazimabad and Gurumandir. The bus service has ability to provide transportation to 300,000 passengers on daily basis.
According to bus service administration, bus will arrive at the station in every three minutes. As the door will also remain open for for 20 seconds for passengers pick and drop.
80 brand new buses imported and 200 drivers trained to drive these buses. Bus service will help 15 million people in Karachi and offers quick transport method to reduce traffic on roads.
The Green Line Bus project initiated by the PML-N’s federal government in July 2014. On February 26, 2016, inauguration ceremony and the foundation stone had laid. Route has 17.8 km long track from Surjani to Guru Mandir. 22 stations have constructed on the route and more stations are still under construction. Rout extension is under process till Municipal Park.
