PSL-7: On Friday, Pakistan Cricket Board-PCB announced that eight cases including players and official members are tested positive. These eight cases include three players and five official staff members. Seventh edition of Pakistan Super league is schedule to start from 27 February in Karachi.
PCB’s Chief Operating Officer -CCO Salman Naseer issued a statement there were conducted 250 tests since Thursday. And eight people tested positive only including five official staff members and three players. Salman Naseer is also Director of Tournament -Pakistan Super League seventh edition.
More over he said that COVID-19 positive official staff and players were kept in Bio-secure Bubble. As they can resume the training session from 24 January after medical reports.
Naseer added more that the PCB is taking precautionary measures to counter COVID-19 cases.
Bio-Security of teams and officials
The Bio-Security protocol has become a big challenge for Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
PCB officials agreed to take foreign services for bio-security. This step will help players to prevent from COVID_19 and new variant Omicron. The Bio-security team will be given authority to apply the SOPs.
PCB has already declared about the booking of entire hotel for visiting players and official staff. PCB also notify to take strong actions against those players who will overstep the Bio-Security protocols. Different sections and zones will be classified for players and official staff and no unrelated personnel will allow to enter the Hotel.
The hotel staff will also a part of Bio-Security bubble. Because staff member can leave the hotel during the event.
A franchise officials said: no other plan formed if PCB has to stop PSL-7 matches due to increasing Omicron cases.
It is necessary to mention that PSL-6 had to stop in the peak due to virus in Karachi. Because remaining matches shifted in United Emirates -UAE.
PSL-5 also affected by corona virous and postponed.
