Punjab has taken a significant leap towards bridging the digital divide in education with the launch of a new satellite internet in schools initiative. The project was inaugurated by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz at DPS Model Town in Lahore.
This innovative program aims to equip thousands of schools across Punjab with this technology. This collaboration, facilitated by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), involves One Web, ADM Holding, and the Punjab government.
The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to digital integration in education. Chief Minister Nawaz, while interacting with students at the DPS Digital Lab, emphasized the importance of the internet for enriching educational experiences.
The UAE delegation, led by Sheikh Ahmed Dalmouk Al Maktoum, played a crucial role in the satellite internet in schools project. During discussions, they highlighted the potential of satellite internet to improve digital access, particularly in remote areas of Punjab.
