Seven Arrested in Peshawar for Renting Mobile Phones to Kids to Play Games:
A recent incident in Peshawar resulted in the arrest of seven shopkeepers due to their involvement in the popular game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG). The phenomenon of earning money through PUBG has attracted the attention of numerous young individuals, with professional players showcasing their skills and winning money through their top-level accounts.
According to reports, the seven shopkeepers in Peshawar were renting out mobile phones to children who wanted to play PUBG and other similar action games. The rental fee charged was Rs. 60 per hour. However, their activities were deemed illegal, and the shopkeepers have been arrested for engaging children in illicit activities and games. The case has been registered at Faqeerabad Police Station.
In connection with the incident, the police seized 47 smartphones and also shut down two shops. This action was taken as part of the authorities’ efforts to address the issue and discourage the involvement of children in activities that may be deemed harmful or illegal.
