Iran Ranked in Top Future Science and Technology Countries:
According to the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI)’s latest report on the world’s top ten scientific and technology superpowers, Iran has surpassed Japan in rankings. The report, which includes ASPI’s new Critical Technology Tracker, identifies Iran as one of the top five nations in six of the forty-four technologies examined, and ninth overall in the ranking to forecast the top 10 future world powers.
When analyzing the number of publications, citations, and the Hirsch Index for innovative aviation engines, including hypersonic engines, Iran is ranked fourth, surpassing Japan, Italy, and the UK, and following China and the United States. ASPI also ranks Iran among the top four nations in the world for research into smart materials, biofuels, and new technologies that could significantly impact the industry.
Iran recognized for many years as a leading country in science. However, ASPI’s Critical Technology Tracker goes beyond basic research to focus on critical performance indicators of scientific and technical capabilities, identifying countries that have an advantage in this metric across the 44 technologies.
